Where raw source water is the correct input

Industrial process and cooling loads are the clearest fit. Operators running their own conditioning trains want a consistent, low-variance feed and full control of the chemistry downstream of the meter. A treated municipal feed is often over-specified for that duty and priced accordingly; a raw source-water feed against a defined constituent range is the more economic input where the site already carries treatment capability.

Data-centre cooling introduces a different constraint set. The governing numbers are not annual totals but maximum draw, peak-hour behaviour, and redundancy — the ability to hold a second, independent supply path against the failure of the first. Municipal and emergency counterparties are typically planning for contingency rather than baseload: a defined standby scenario, an agreed response expectation, and confirmed storage and receiving readiness on the buyer’s side.
